Mpukoni Maternity Wing Complete as Njuki Rolls Out Major Road, Water Projects Ahead of Ruto’s Visit

Governor Muthomi Njuki has announced that the construction of a Maternity Wing at Mpukoni Hospital is now complete and awaiting official commissioning.
The Mother-to-Child Complex, worth KShs 45 million, is an investment from the Safaricom Foundation and will host a state-of-the-art 40-bed Maternity Wing.
Governor Njuki stated that the facility would be commissioned and handed over to the county government once the modern outpatient block, currently being constructed by the county government is complete. This will elevate the hospital to Level 4 status.
"This facility will not only support medical services but also create numerous job opportunities for our people. We will ensure that by the end of this year, the facility will be well equipped and fully operational," Njuki said.
Roads
Speaking at a Seed Distribution Programme in Ikuu, Governor Njuki revealed that he had secured funding from President William Ruto for the tarmacking of the Ikuu–Cheera road, which has already been approved.
He further announced the tarmacking of the Kwa Mati–Kwa Mbaaru and Kwa Mati–Kathathani–Weru roads to ease transportation in the area. He also noted that construction of the Kithioroni–Murabani road section was underway, with the contract already secured. Once complete, the intersection will connect to the Kibugua–Itugururu road.
Water
Governor Njuki highlighted progress on the Kabuboni–Gitareni water project, where the intake is already in place, and announced that the tender for pipeline construction has been issued.
He confirmed that funds for the works are already secured.
During his speech, the Governor also announced that President William Ruto, at his invitation, would tour the county next month
