Njuki Boosts Magutuni Hospital with New Doctors

Governor Muthomi Njuki has announced the hiring of additional doctors, including a surgeon, at Magutuni Hospital to enhance service delivery and healthcare at the facility.

Speaking at Magutuni on Wednesday, Njuki noted that his administration had made tremendous efforts to improve medical services at the hospital, aiming to ease the burden on hundreds of patients who previously had to travel to other facilities for healthcare.

“As we approach a change of guard in the next elections, we must be accountable as leaders for the projects and work done while in office. When we took over, this hospital lacked proper infrastructure and staff. As we speak, it is now a modern facility that is well-equipped,” Njuki said.

“For those who have been avoiding this hospital and seeking medical services elsewhere, we now have a surgeon, so don’t worry about getting surgical services outside. In the past two weeks, we have added substantive doctors, and we now have five doctors at Magutuni Hospital,” he added.

The Governor also announced that the Orthopedic Department at the facility is fully operational, adding that a gynecologist will also be hired within two weeks and stationed at the hospital full-time.

In his address, Njuki said that his administration has rolled out a program to offer incentives to expectant mothers as a way of encouraging them to attend clinic visits and give birth in hospitals. He noted that the records would help the county government prepare hospitals and services in a timely manner for new mothers.

“We will give incentives to ensure they give birth at hospitals. Those who register, attend the required clinic visits, and deliver at a hospital will be given KShs 1,000. This is a way of motivating new mothers to go to clinics and give birth at hospitals,” he said.
